National Mediation Board authorizes representational vote for Train Dispatchers employed by Genesee & Wyoming Railroad in St. Albans, Vermont

Washington, D.C. – On July 10, 2024, the National Mediation Board (NMB) announced its plan to conduct a representational vote for Train Dispatchers employed by Genessee & Wyoming Railroad (GWRR) in St. Albans, Vermont. The announcement follows a determined organizational movement by the Dispatchers, who control rail traffic across the GWRR’s sprawling short line network.

According to the NMB, ballots will be mailed on July 24, with the final tally scheduled for September 4. If successful, the vote will serve as the final step across the finish line for the GWRR Dispatchers in their journey to unionize with ATDA. The ATDA, in turn, stands ready to represent them with its full strength, and to welcome them as members in fraternal solidarity.
