ATDA Seeks Members to Serve on Automation and AI Committee

ATDA is currently seeking applications from members who wish to serve on the organization’s newly established committee to evaluate the use of automation and artificial intelligence (AI) within the Train Dispatching craft. The committee, which will be overseen by ATDA Vice President Brandon Denucci and chaired by CSX System Committee General Chairman Ben Craft, will review the current and potential future usages of these technologies by rail carriers, then report their findings to the ATDA Executive Board.

Ideal candidates are those with extensive train dispatching experience, along with a background in IT, computer applications, or rail carrier dispatch systems. The committee will work in both group and independent settings. Those selected will not work in the role full-time but will be asked to meet as necessary (either virtually or in person) to conduct the business of the committee.

Those interested in serving should submit a written application for review to ATDAcommittee@atda.org  no later than July 19, 2024. Applications should include your name, contact information, employing carrier, years of train dispatching experience, relevant experience and education, a description of applicable skills, and your reasons for wanting to serve. Any questions concerning the committee positions should be directed to Vice President Brandon Denucci at denucci@atda.org.
